The climate in Peru
The cold Peru current ensures that the coastal region of Peru has a pleasant climate. In summer (December-March) the average is 27 °C during the day. in winter the mercury lies just above 20 °C. There is hardly any rain, but it can be very foggy. Soon after the coast the Andes loom into view. Needless to say, temperatures vary with the height. The average temperature in the mountains throughout the year is quite stable. The east of Peru is located in the Amazon region and therefore has a tropical climate. The rainy season, which is not the best time for a far journey, runs in both the Andes and the jungle from December to April.
