The climate in Vanuatu
Vanuatu, what the elderly amongst us still know as the New Hebrides, is an island group in the Pacific Ocean consisting of some 80 islands. The north has a tropical climate with temperatures reaching 30 °C every day. The south has more temperature variations: between May and September it is slightly less hot and drier. Most precipitation falls from January through to March. Vanuatu is on average, during the period December to March, hit 2.5 times per year by a cyclone. This makes it the most sensitive cyclone area in the Pacific.
