The climate in Jordan
The west of Jordan, which borders Israel, has a climate which is similar to a Mediterranean type. Dry and warm summers and mild, fairly wet winters. The western slopes get enough rain to enable farming: 700 mm per year. It gets drier as you head east and south in Jordan. There is a desert-like climate. Summers are more than 35 °C during the day. In winter it is still 15 to 20 °C. Rain is a rare commodity: in December to March there is an average of 5 mm per month.
