Along the small coastal strip of Slovenia it is very agreeable. There is a temperate Mediterranean climate. The interior of Slovenia is mountainous. The conditions there are more like a continental climate. Winters are quite cold, in Ljubljana the average daytime temperature in January is 2 °C. In summer with 25 °C it is pleasantly warm. Slovenia is a wet country. July is the warmest, driest and sunniest month. This is the best time to travel. The damp, cold winter climate has the advantage that it is great for skiing in places like Krvavec and Kranjska Gora.
