The climate in Slovakia
The climate in Slovakia is temperate continental. The influence of the cold from Russia is definitely noticeable in the winter. In January the temperature in the capital Bratislava is just above zero. In the northerly Tatra mountains skiers benefit from the cold and moist ocean air that has reached this area. In the summer months the temperature rises to an average of 26 °C. The flat south of Slovakia is reasonably sunny in summer with 8 sunshine hours per day. Most rainfall is in the months of May to August; then it rains an average of 10 days per month. September is dry and mild. Perfect weather to travel.
