The climate in Netherlands
The Netherlands has a moderate oceanic climate, with cool summers and mild winters. The influence of a south-westerly flow sends humid sea air over the country all year-round. It rains in every season, yet it is not an extremely wet country. On average, the summer temperature gets up to 22 °C. The south is the slightly warmer than the north. The sun shines the most on the coast. The south-east gets the least sun. Severe frosts are not frequent in the Netherlands. In winter the daytime temperature is 5 °C and it's often foggy or cloudy. Then the average night time temperature in the north-east is just below freezing. During periods of frost this is also the first place where people can go ice-skating.
