Malta is an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. It is then not surprising to learn that it has a Mediterranean climate. The summer seems to last forever on Malta. From May to October it is at least 25 °C during the day. At the height of summer the mercury rises to 30 °C on average. When the wind blows from the south it can become extremely warm (40 °C) and humid. The winter is pretty wet and with a minimum of 15 °C mild. Precipitation is often in the form of short, heavy showers. There is plenty of sunshine on Malta, in the summer even up to 12 hours.
