The climate in Lithuania
Lithuania has a moderate continental climate. Along the coast the moderating influence of the Baltic Sea is noticeable. Winters are slightly less cold and summers slightly less warm than inland. Furthermore, there is more rain here than in the east. Summer, which lasts from mid-May to the end of August, is the wettest season. July is the warmest month. In Vilnius the maximum is 21 °C. In winter, it is generally drier. Nevertheless, there is snow from late November to March. January is the coldest month with a daytime maximum of -5 °C.
