The climate in Greece
In summertime the Mediterranean climate attracts millions of sun-worshippers to Greece. On the mainland and the many Greek islands -with Crete and Rhodes being the best known- the mercury often climbs to 30 °C during the day. Summer are bone dry. It only rains in the extreme north. Most precipitation falls between October and March. The temperature in winter is between 10 and 15 °C. The active holidaymaker can then go skiing in the mountainous north. For hikers May and June are the best months to travel to Greece. Then it is pleasantly warm with hardly any rain.
