The climate in Bulgaria
Most of Bulgaria has a continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. South of the Balkan mountains, influenced by the Black Sea, there is a Mediterranean climate. In summer, the temperature in the popular seaside resorts of Golden Beach, Albena and Djuni easily reaches 30 °C. The start of the summer is the wettest time in Bulgaria. Most precipitation falls in the mountains (1000 mm). Much of this is in the form of snow. This together with the cold climate is ideal for winter sports. Popular ski resort include Borovets and Pamporovo.
