The climate in Nepal
Nepal, sandwiched between Tibet and India, has a number of climate zones. In the flat South the climate is subtropical. The rainy season, and that goes for the whole of Nepal, runs from June to October. The uplands, where the vast majority of people live, has a continental and mountain climate. The upper Himalayas has a polar climate. The best time to visit Nepal is from late October to early May. The winter, December to March, is the driest period and, together with the daytime sun makes a comfortable walking environment. Then, however the nights are cold.
