The climate in Japan
Japan lies in the temperate climate zone and is very elongated. The country has four distinct seasons, which apply to all regions. On Hokkaido in the north, winter is cold with frosty daytime temperatures well below zero and thick snow. At the same time in the extreme south the temperatures are still above 10 °C. July is the warmest month, then in the south and central areas, it is 30 °C. The rainy season runs from June until mid-September. In August and September the residues of typhoons can pass over. Visit Japan in the spring or autumn.
