The climate in Afghanistan

Afghanistan, located in western Asia, lying north-west of Pakistan, is a dry country. The majority of the country has a continental steppe climate: hot summers (35 °C from June to September) and cold winters. The maximum temperatures range from 0 to 10 degrees in the months of December to March and this is largely determined by the altitude. In the winter months it freezes light to moderate at night. Most precipitation falls from February to May. It is wettest in the east. The summers are bone dry. This certainly applies to the west, with an area of desert. There it is on average 10 degrees warmer or more, than in the rest of Afghanistan.
