The climate in Tunisia
The north and east of Tunisia borders on the Mediterranean Sea and is blessed with a Mediterranean climate. From June to September it is hot (30-35 °C) and dry. The winters are relatively cool and fairly wet. In January it will not be warmer than 15 °C. The climate in the west and south of the country is influenced by the Sahara. There it is a considerably drier and warmer. In summer, the mercury gets up to 40 °C. The desert area can best be visited in the winter: with an average of 20 °C it is quite pleasant.
