The climate in Egypt
Egypt largely consists of desert. The climate contributes to this with hot summers and less hot winters. In the south, with Luxor and Aswan, it is bone dry and extremely hot. In the summer the thermometer is constantly at 40 °C or more. In the north, towards the Mediterranean Sea, the climate is more moderate. In Alexandria the daytime summer temperature is 30 °C, in winter 20 °C and there is even 200 mm of precipitation. Along the Red Sea and in Cairo in the summer it is 35 degrees. Due to the summer heat, the best time to travel is from September to May.
